(No.1)
'The Goddess Shrine'
This artwork is the first in a series of works created using only found/ordinary objects.
My interest is in turning discarded 'stuff' into things of beauty and uniqueness . Just goes to show that beauty can be found in the ordinary.[/img]

Hi Tobias -that's really cool. Love the depth of colour on the insides of the tin - how did you do the edging?

Hey Grant,
Thanks for your comment, when u said how did i do the edging, are u refering to the gold bits of metal attached to the artwork, or the edging around the wings?
Greenfrog
The size is 23cmx16cm approx. I have started several more and when i get them finished i will show them here.

Yeah i am just discovering the joys of creating unique works of art from found objects. I work in many mediums but assemblage is new to me and it is exciting.

I have a youtube channel for those interested 'capricornartist73' and on that channel i document my art journey, i teach techniques and show you the progress of this assemblage series.
Thanks for the positive comments guys |

| Hi again Tobias, is your location of Norway new? I haven't noticed it before, or do I just not notice things and didn't realise? |

Hey! Welcome back! You have been busy. I am LOVING this assembled found object work. I want to see lots more and I want to own some.
Really love it. Love that you have used your great paint technique work on the metal also. I've been painting on aluminium a long time and would be interested to know what you use to adhere the paint to the metal surface (I'll share too), and the other stuff to each other.
Well done. |

Hi Tobias - I meant the edging on the wings (I know nothing about metalwork except soldering circuitboards...)

Well actually the edging was cut with just a pair of scissors. I basically split a sardine can down the middle with a stanley knife and then opened it up like a pair of doors, then cut out the wing shape. Pretty easy really, the whole thing is held together with liquid nails.

Yeah i have been a little absent from here of recent but have more time at the moment to post and comment. The Assemblage work is definitely a new direction for me and one i am excited about, so there will be many more sardine can assemblages to come;) You are asking about how do i get the paint to stick to the metal, well first i lightly sand the whole metal container then i simply spray paint it. I find it sticks perfectly to the metal, i haven't tried using acrylic as yet.

I have seen Fiona's work before, and i think it is creative and brilliant. An artist who's work i am inspired by is Michael de meng http://www.michaeldemeng.com/ |

(No.2)
So here is the next Sardine can Assemblage artwork in this series. I am pretty happy with the development of this work. I have inserted 2 small lights hidden under the roses so when it is hanging the light falls down onto the hearts. |

| Hey Garry, these are fantastic - just LOVE them - particularly the 2nd one. The lucky person who owns this will just get so much pleasure from it - I'm certain. |
