Hi all
Just wanted to drop in, say hi and add myself into the mosaic forum. I'm newly arrived in Melbourne and am picking up my mosaicing after having let myself lapse while traveling.
What resources are there for suppliers etc in and around Melbourne? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Jen |

Hi to all, thanks for replying... and thanks for the links to the websites. Im still finding my way around town so all info is great.
Having checked out the craftforum first, Im interested that the mosaic topic was "moved" from there to here in the artforum. In the UK, despite its growing popularity and the talented mosaic artists we have, its still seen very much as a craft. It's only labelling, I know, but its given me the (good) impression that mosaicists are seen as artists. |

Hi Jen, a couple of my pals worked as assistants on this mosaic project at Bondi a few years ago http://www.hbmosaics.com/Bondi.html.
The group is based in Melbourne, it might be worth contacting them. Check out their "About Us" page. The site doesn't seem to have been updated since 2003, but hopefully the contact details are still valid.
Also, I see Ceres in Brunswick are offering mosaic workshops with Paul Jesse http://www.ceres.org.au/design_content.html. He may be able to give you further info on the mosaic scene. |

Hi Jen, what type of tesserae do you use?
There are plenty of different suppliers around Melbourne.
Let me know and I'll send you some links.
