Hi everyone!
I'm quite new to the Sydney art scene (only had one exhibition here so far). Looking to get my work out to a broader audience and meet other artists.

I paint pandas, hippos and various other things.. Have a look at my website:

Enjoy!

Yes, welcome Guy.
Your work is very refreshing.
Great use of colour with simple execution but complex ideas.

Hi Guy, welcome to the forum, REALLY like your work. When I saw painter of pandas and hippos my first thought was Zzzzzz, was I wrong, fabulous colour, ultra clean lines, wryness and whimsy, great work.

Hi Guy - love it.

I'm always stoked to see something I wouldn't have thought of in a million years.

Cheers

I love your style, I think it is funny (in a good way. It makes me smile and laugh). You have simplicity but you also have busy in that your create patterns. Some paintings remind me of Esher. Is he an inspiration? Do you do mathematical calculations as it looks like your busier paintings are planned?

Very comical.

Hello Guy, welcome to the forum.
Great work, some would make lovely fabric patterns.

I reckon it's hard not to be influenced by Esher in some way - his stuff is mind-boggling. Wink I'm probably more influenced by Eastern art - Tibetan and Japanese painting, Sufi caligraphy.. I tend to see paintings in my head before I paint them..

Yup quite a few people have suggested my work would be good for fabric patterns. Just not sure how to go about doing that - if anyone here has any ideas, do share!

I use acrylic on canvas. I'm always on the hunt for nice matt colours.. Wink
