Hi Everyone,
I am very keen to join a group of painters here on the gold coast...any suggestions? I work full time and only really want to do either one night a week (mon, or tues night only) or one saturday/sunday a month... then put together a little show....any suggestions anyone???????? am more of a joiner than a leader that's for sure. |

| I am interested also to join an artgroup on the goldcoast have wanted to do this for a long time, perhaps we can start and gradually get more and more to join! what style do you paint? |

| actully just read you wanted to paint sunlight onto a house! was looking at more a group of artists getting together and having paint days on there own paintings, painting and discussions on what there doing etc with a few nibblies meeting like minded artists. |

yep, sounds good to me! actually the 'sunlight' quote is actually quoting Edward Hopper, who is one of my favourite artists. You can have a look at my style of painting by following the link on my post,, but basically I paint realistic landscapes, lots of buildings on the gold coast, blue sky, deep shadows, portraits... I have been trying to organise a once a month to begin with saturday painting day, like what you have suggested, painting and nibblies etc...trouble is, I'm not much of an organiser, as I work full time and have a family, but I am very keen to get exhibiting and the best way to do that is with a group, I think? |

no I never did! like i wrote above, i am not much of an organiser, and one person replying already misunderstood what I was trying to find (see the sunlight on the side of the house above - it really threw me that someone thought I wanted to paint the side of a house because of that Hopper quote...what the???) I have joined the RQAS and am exhibiting and trying to get to as many life drawing and other classes as possible with my work and family - but what I am looking for too, it a group to exhibit with - like minded women who want to exhibit together! |

Maybe we can arrange to meet at a cafe and try to organise something.
How about Hope Island Golf Club in the cafe, Hope Island Rd, Hope island (Opposite BiLo). Friday 16October09 at 12.30pm. Anyone interested? |
