What are your favourite art or artist's websites on the internet?
One I really like is Elizabeth Schlegel's Painting Each Day blog:

Reminds me of our thread about starving artists and "proper" jobs, etc. This woman paints a 6"x6" oil every day and seems to sell most of them for $100 each. Around $30,000 a year just from alla prima 6" square paintings. Way to go! |

I know this is a literary site but because everyone here appreciate the art that is literature i was wondering who your favourite Artists are and what your favourite painting, sculpture etc are as well. Maybe you could even post the image here and create a discussion about different paints and the like? I thought it would be a nice idea and a nice way to get to know more about what the people here like and dislike.
One of my favourite Artists is the Irish Artist Jack.B.Yeats, brother of W.B.Yeats and this is one of his Paintings, It is intitled Freedom.

Thats a BIG blog pook I didn't get time to scroll right down but it looked interesting.
Wouldn't it be nice to sell everything that you painted.  |

Excellent question Pook.
I have been thinking about raising the same thing. Mostly because I want to know where everybody else finds inspiration, and get the inside on some damn fine arty bits, with the possibility of lazily discovering something edgy and/or obscure which will make me seem cool and loan me kudos if I name drop it later. Anyone?
I will gather a list of my faves and share. There's some daggy stuff that's actually been incredibly useful. Oh alright then, trawl through the infinite link maze that is this site..and find yourself on the other side of 5 hours later...http://housewife.splinder.com/ just for starters. |
