Porn and advertising spam is a rapidly rising problem for this forum.
In the past few weeks alone, we've seen a couple of posters post to every forum, every day. The Moderators attempt to delete these wherever possible, but there are some issues:
Only Administration (ie Brad) can delete an account.
Only Administration can edit or remove posts to 'Administration'.
For some reason, I can't edit or delete posts in some of the state Forums - probably a permissions glitch.
You're right - removing a poster's account would not be a bad idea (wouldn't stop them, as evidenced by the twerp selling shoes, who's up to account name #5 at least...). The problem is that if the moderators delete it early enough (which is the idea), Admin may not even know they are a spammer because they never see any spam posts...
Brad, Daniel....? Ideas?
Cheers

Thanks for explaining that Grant.
We know you're busy Brad, and we appreciate the work you do to make this a great forum, but maybe you could set aside an hour or two somewhen to go through and delete the offending accounts? |
