Hi!

Welcome to the "Art Introductions" forum.

This forum was a suggested to me by a friend who thought it may be a good way to start of discussions in artforum.com.au

Anyone and everyone, Please feel free to introduce yourself in this area by "POSTING A NEW TOPIC" (please dont just reply to this post), links to your personal website are fine too.

Any posts that are here just blatant promotion and nothing else are likely to be deleted as they arn't really in the spirit of the forum.

If you link to yoru website from the forum, please inturn support us by linking to us from your website.

Hi Brad

Thanx 4 inviting me to join the arts forum. I have been on the web since 1996 but have never joined a forum before......seems I have not found one that really interested me before.....but arts in Oz, yep that's good!

I am an artist, painting in mixed media for many years, located in rural oz, and am pretty well known (I guess) around here anyway!

I teach art once or twice a month to anyone that wants to listen to me rave on......

Currently we (2 friends and I) are opening a small gallery and arts studio in Orange (around July) just as a space for us to chat, carry on and generally try to produce something amazing! Anything will go for a while though!

We're all into mixed media, digital media and photography (and our landlords are philosophers come psychologists so the chat is good.....

Hope your venture (aka this website) goes well as it will be nice to chat to other artists out there and see how they feel (paint) about art etc.

Hi there,
My name is Chris Marshall and I live in Perth, Western Australia.

My husband, Steve, and I are visual artists with IT backgrounds. I am into painting (mainly acrylic and mixed media), drawing and digital art; Steve is a fine art photographer. We have had a computing business for many years but are now getting more and more into our arts business, often combining our backgrounds with our interests (or at least trying to!)

I am Coordinator of Atwell Arts Centre and Gallery for Melville Community Arts Association - a supposedly part time position that tends to take over my life but I am madly trying not to drown in administration and to make sure that I make time for some art every day!!!!

Looking forward to meeting some other Aussie artists on artforum

Hi,
I'm Amanda from Sydney, Australia. Thanks for the invite, Brad. I'm a jewellery designer of 17 years in beaded stringing and wire worked jewellery. I'm also a bookkeeper in my alternate life but dont' like to talk about it... Razz

It's rather exiting to see an Australian forum about art starting up. I've been very active on the About.com jewellery making forum but everything is in the States - way too far away.

Look forward to seeing things for inspiration from you all!
