It might be ironic that while I argue that artists have little more rights than others to cause offense, it seems that I have offended the entire forum...

Hannaford's painting last year (or was it the year before?) "Tubes" was beautiful. I was sad for him not to win that year. |

Crikey that got heated!
Can I say - personally, I love it when I see other artists promoting their work. It is a happy reminder that some actually get off their behinds and make things happen. It's inspirational and generous to invite YOU along on their journey, and seeing it as self-aggrandisement seems rather stingy.

I second that.. I've been away from the forum for about a year or so, but I found it great to see Simon's success since I last visited here.
Meanwhile, back to the Archibald  ..First time I haven't been able to see the show for quite a few years since I've been overseas for the last year, but from the website it would've been nice to see Fantauzzo, Quilty, Yi Wang, and Zong Chen in person.. oh well.. next year I might be back in Australia in time. |
