At least you're using yours. I haven't painted for so long. Just can't seem to get back into it. I see you still have your profile pic painting on the wall.

What has been distracting you The Pook? I know I go through waves. Especially while studying. Trying to switch from academic brain to creative brain is hard. Sometimes I need to give it a few weeks or a month or so to get back into the swing of things. Having a break is not a bad thing...but a long absence not necessarily by choice is hard.

Yes my profile pic is my first ever self portrait (and was the only until recently). I cant part with it yet. I think I will hang onto it until the mould takes it from me Wink

Would that be the mould on the painting or the mould on you? Laughing

Chrissy 3 easels! I'm envious.

My studio continues to be an embarrassment.
We moved into our own home 6 months ago with every intention to build a new space for Vito and fit out the double garage for me with insluation lining the walls, more lights etc.
But time (and a sever lack of money) have meant that the two of us have just had to make do in an unlined much too dark garage. We are both trying to get work finished for shows - Melbourne in August for him, July in Perth and August in NSW for me.

One day I will take photos of the new spaces and share them, but for now I guess I can just repeat what so many people know - a great space is a wonderful thing to have but a terrible space won't stop you from making work.

Closer and closer to being finished

I am loving the look of the light coming into the space.

I remember that it was 1988 at a conference in Sydney when I heard Irving Penn talk about his lighting set up. It has just taken a few years to achieve Smile

Margo's sewing room The cupboards were an over order from the laundry ( due to a mix up ) but fit perfectly !

It's looking good, I can feel the excitement mounting, those cupboards should hold a pretty good fabric stash.

Hi my name is Jet and this is one of my studios situated in Central Queensland ( I work between three studios). I share this with a giant possum and a carpet snake.

Yes I've always thought a carpet snake is an essential item in the studio, keeps the rat down, it's the Red Backs I haven't worked out how to get rid of..

Yes but it's a Giant Rat. (typo) Rolling Eyes
The Red Back spiders are a worry though,, I"ve got a lot or plants in my studio to try and soak up the toxic fumes but Red Backs hide under the rims of the pots.

Yeah but redbacks aren't really interested in us...but if you've got kids in your house then you wouldn't want them to be bitten.
I've got a ton of redbacks here as well...some are really big.
I just continually spray them with the outdoor surface spray..kills anything
mosquitoes, flies, birds and helicopters.
I feel bad spraying redbacks. They're not aggro like some other spiders can be, but I wouldn't want my kids to be bitten by one of them..
I've seen a heap of dangerous wildlife..I've jumped over brown snakes while jogging in the National Park, I've had large sharks swim under me while sitting on a surfboard in deep water... heaps of different spiders etc. but what really freaks me is leeches.

I can remember going to a waterfall when I was a kid and didn't have any shoes on as usual...there were a lot of damp leaves on the ground and after a while It felt itchy between my toes.
I checked my feet and had two or three fat leeches between each toe draining my blood rapidly.
I don't think I ever got over that...I still feel like they're there.
