I like your idea, your visual response to text. However Im a little confused, did you just re-write the text from the book that you got your inspiration from? or did you write the text from your own interpretation of the book? I think if it was word-for-word from the book than yes, you need to check the copyright law on that, as I would think that is plagiarism.

I've heard of the book before, and others have said its about philosophical ideas. I would imagine it would have been very hard to digest and decipher into visuals. Well done. you have done something interesting. Smile

At this point I was just copying the text, transcribing a text was a large part of the exercise. I guess it is a bit cheeky. I've posted some more of the pics. Will get around to posting some more 'book projects' in the future. I'm currently using a reference book about shipwrecks, which will probably feature in a future show.

I was about to scan something for another thread and thought I'd throw in another one of my favourite pages... the structure of having to stick to something fixed like a book I found quite challenging, this was a drawing that I did after having stopped for several weeks, having completely run out of ideas of how to continue the thing...

Hi Andrew. Have you seen this somewhat different take on the book as visual art?
