Thanks once again for a great forum Brad.

I just visited an overseas forum that I hadn't used for some time to find that it has now become a pay-only site and costs US$70 per year to subscribe!

FOR BRAD IMPORTANT I did not know where to post this Brad but a week ago I received the private message as one we received from art forum. I opened it thinking it is a message from a member but I activated some kind of virus. I could not log in and I was left without internet a whole week. The problem is now although"fixed" my computer disconnects from my broadband and I have to log in almost every time I sit to check my inbox. I am not sure if you are aware of this but I thought to let you know. And I do not know what to do except I ran Norton, it cleared up stuff but something is still wrong.

You may be right Ock, but FB serves a different function. It's nearly impossible to find information on, say "How to paint fur", unless you know somebody who does it and are their friend.

I have no idea why the Forum has gone so quiet...

I was so glad when I found this website cuz only the artists' community gives such options as high quality critiques and help...

Where on FB can you find that?..

Art forum seems so handy in terms of teaching and learning.. There could be tutorials and lessons here.

...just had a look for the 'other' Australian Art Forum (the one that wouldn't have me as a member) to see if maybe everybody had moved there, but it seems to have gone.

Anybody know if that's the case, or has it changed URL?

I agree that you certainly can't find the info & help thats here, on facebook.
Here you ask a question about something & you will maybe get several answers, ( well used to anyway), but on facebook you would have to go looking for someone who uses the medium or whatever you may want to know about, so you only then have one persons opinion who may or may not be correct.

I wonder if it's because there is too much choice on the net for artists to promote themselves, like their own web page, facebook, redbubble, blogs & numerous other sites & online gallerys, they are so busy trying to maintain several of these they just run out of time to visit here.
It may not be just facebook.

There is so much great info stored on this site that it would be a shame to lose it.

But I have also noticed over the few years I have been a member is that though there is a continual stream of new members joining, most of the forum is kept active by just a handfull of the same people, & I guess they get a bit tired of doing all the answering at times.

Sunfire, I have noticed that it is a very typical situation for almost every forum - it's "life" being kept by several people who are interested in it (or who have created it).
Anyway, I am truly happy to be here cuz such communities are very special - they have got their own unique charm.
Information, and help, and tips, and feedback can't be found on FB, personal blogs and web pages after all.
