I know there are a few Brisbane artists here but what about Melbourinans? say hi and let us know whereabouts you are - maybe we can arrange some painting sessions or gallery hops or something Smile

I am located in Mt Evelyn, which is an outer eastern suburb located near Lilydale.
I have decided to get involved in some art societys out here, such as the Ringwood art Society and the Waverley art society. Are you interested in that as well?

I've thought about the Waverley art society as they are close- but I am nervous about art societies - I dont know how the waverley blue hairs might take nekkid people... Embarassed

Yup,
I was in Brisbane but now in Melbourne. Nearly four years now gee whiz. Love to look at some galleries with you....
I'm interested in partaking in a casual life drawing sessions too if anyone interested.

Yaay! more melburnians! Unfortuately I can't really get around too much at the moment but I do look to the future and hoping I will!

Ooh! Glen Waverly isn't far from me at all!! Have you been to the monash gallery of art on Ferntree gully rd? I haven't had the chance to.. yet! Any galleries that you have seen in the area!?

The Mulgrave art gallery at Mulgrave as a lot of different arts represetned and it depends on wht the theme is- Some times I've ben blown away by the artwork - Dont a foot note - in November they hold a masterpiece in a day compitition and I'm hoping to overcome my neversouness about doing this it starts very early in the morning and you can gain moe info in the local papers and of course in the Galltery as well.{

Becky - I picked up a "Victoria's Cultural Guide for 204-2005 and it lits a heap of galleries in Melbourne - some that I've checked out and some I've been meaning to look at
One's I haven't look at yet are "Maroondah Art Gallery, 32 Greenwood Ave Ringwood - its set within beautiful ardens and a range of outdoor art featrues. Monash Art Gallery 860 Ferntree Guly Rd Wheelers Hill - they have a a variety of exhibitions including photoraphy, fine art craft and design
Monstsalvat in Eltham - I absolutely loved this as it's set in a French Provincial Village -
It's jam packed with galleries all around the state - and I picked it up at Montsalvat - hope this helps

hello everyone! I just discovered this site & when I saw this thread I decided to join. Im in the inner south east, Elwood way. Are there any people interested in some plein air sessions? I want to get out & paint some nature but am too shy to do it alone. Also dont want to have to deal with gawkers on my own.
