I am from Melbourne, I live up in Mount Dandenongs. Anyone joined an art society up this way, Ferntree Gully etc?

There is an art society in Sherbrooke. They have a gallery too.

There is an art show up in Kallista on the 21 of April, anyone exhibiting? |

| I'm from Knox and would love to be involved. I went to a friends exhibition in Maling rd Canterbury a couple of years back and I lucked on this scene that had me so envious. It was a glorious day, and in this little courtyard were all these artists, some had easels some were sketching, some were flicking paint on boards, they had a d.j there playing swing. It looked so cool and relaxed, I spoke to some of the artists and evidently the council or someone, had advertised in the paper for artists of any kind to come and play for the day. The subject was to be Water. The cafes were open so I bought myself a latte and sat and watched a tapped my feet, and wished like hell it was me there !! Someone was to judge the final piece and choose a winner for the day, But really no one was overly fussed about winning, They were just living the now!! Another idea for one of our days maybe??? I recieved an invite to the exhibition of Christine Wrest-smith, called Becomings, at the fresh gallery, 63 brunswick st fritzroy 4-15th of april, she does beautiful drawings and paintings, if anyone is interested. |

I am planning to go to the opening of that one, there are a few openings this week aren't there!

That sounds unreal, would have loved to be a part of it too!
I am from Ferny Creek, so we dont live far at all. Have oyur heard about the 'Kallista Art Show' coming up at the end of the month? I am going to try and enter, left a message today to see if I can still enter.

You can still try and enter, I just rang this morning.
Its at 92 Monbulk Rd, Kallista on April 21, 22, 23rd, opening night is 8pm on the 22nd at 7.30pm, sales at 8pm. Call 5968 6167 or 9755 2769. Hopefully they will get back to me tonight about more details. |
