Hi everyone,

I've been searching all over the internet for places that offer casual life drawing sessions in Melbourne but can't seem to find any! I previously took a course in life drawing which I thoroughly enjoyed, and want to continue practicing without the presence of a tutor this time.

If anyone has any suggestions of places it would be much appreciated.

There are plenty around but not often advertised on the net. A few that I know of are:
Hawthorn Art Society
Brunswick Street Gallery
Linden

I don't have contact details to hand but hopefully you can find them through Art Search.

If these areas don't suit good places to look are on notice boards at art supplies stores.

I've gone to Linden for some casual life drawing, it's $12, 7:30-9:30 on Thursday (they have a time table on their website, they may have other sessions too). Good friendly atmostphere, the only problem is trying to park in St Kilda!

I think Gasworks have casual life drawing also.

Hi Loan,

Try some of the Victorian Art Societies they7 often have regular life drawing sessions, mostly untutored. Alternatively maybe see:

Melbourne Art Schools

All the best...
Kind Regards,

Suggest Wednesday classes with Liz 9481 1225 (non-tutored) $15, at Jiki Jiki Community Centre Cnr Union and Plant st. Northcote. Nice atmosphere and classes start at 7:30 this term, but check.

Cheers, Craig.

Hi,

I just joined so I don't know if you've solved this problem yet. Of course, it depends where you live: Melbourne is a big place...

I pop in here, every so often:

DRAWING
The Hut Gallery
157 Underwood Road, Ferntree Gully,
Victoria, Australia, 3156

TUESDAYS:
Still Life Group 10.30am-2.30pm $3.00/$5.00* Contact Betty Ph 9758 8849
Life Drawing Group 3 - 5 pm $8.00/$10.00* Contact Kaye Ph 9763 0707
Life Drawing Group (short poses) 8pm-10pm $8.00/10.00* Contact Ron Ph 9729 1678

Very friendly bunch, and very cheap access to a variety (gender, shape, size, etc) of life models.

Hope this helps
Smile

Hi there, are you still looking for a Life Drawing group? I run a session every Saturday in Newport. Casual, pay as you go, only $13 per session. If you're interested, read my blog http://leonie-newportlifedrawing.blogspot.com/

For something different, try InkNLead! Once a month, $15. Very casual, no teachers.

Currently held in Newport (Western suburbs).

Hi folks, I recently launched a site called Melbourne Life Drawing to
address the need for an online central directory of life drawing classes in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Please check out:

www.melbournelifedrawing.com

I appreciate there are lots of both formal-tutored and untutored options available for drawing but if you run classes or know of any you feel should be included on this list, please email me

info@melbournelifedrawing.com

Thanks, Paul
