Hi Everyone,

I'm a lapsed Melbourne artist looking to "pull my finger out" and I hope there's a brush attached to it. Be gentle with me I'm new to forums!

Hi GB - I think we're all trying to pull our collective fingers out, every day.

What sort of stuff do you do?

Cheers

Hi Grant,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm a bit of an allrounder. I am a painter, drawer, I make sculptures, installations, films, animations, and have been dabbling in digital art recently.

I haven't made anything to show for a while now after having to discard a lot of my works due to space issues and falling into the dreaded artist's trap of "trying to make some money out of your talents" and doing design / storyboards for $.

A recent trip to the sydney biennale was enough to make me regret the last 10 years and try and reconnect with the art world again - where I truly belong. I like quirky art, humorous art, art with a message but am also rightfully blown away by every caravaggio I see.

My inspriations range from the old masters, the dada/surrealists, American Modern artists of the 60's and the original Saatchi artists.
I love the range of art I've seen on this forum so far.

Cheers

Hi Godbox,

Well the forum is the wrong place to "pull your finger out" as you will find such a wealth of information and want to contribute and seek advice, show your work etc, that you will spend more time on here then creating...which is not a bad thing if your having a block, are stuck or just want to chill out, but sometimes its hard to not visit the forum on reply to things.
