Thanks for posting that Daniel - I've been struggling with acrylics for a while... you've just given me some ideas (even though these are oils) on how I've been doing it all wrong.

Looking good.

Cheers

Thanks Grant. This is painted with normal oil paints mostly Winsor and Newton but I mix them with the Griffin fast drying white and use liquin as a medium so they dry very fast...too fast in summer.
There's three reasons why I would rather use this system over acrylics.

1; I can apply the paint a lot smoother and get better blends using oils.

2; The paint stays the same colour as I mix it...acrylic's dry darker.

3;... I forgot.

Nice to see you painting again, Daniel.
I would have loved the first take as well, but i know your vision and the result looks good.

Thanks Tara.

OK The top half is blocked in , now I can start on the detail. Laughing

I really enjoy painting the shadows and the different colours the foliage takes there. It gives the headland interest and shows its form,

Funny, I thought that the water would take ages.

I'd say one more day on this painting should make it about as finished as it can get. Very Happy

Funny, I knew the water will take much less. Stunning so far. I wonder what details you may add. Looks finished to me.

Just marvelous seeing the stages of this work. And yes that water is remarkable! Only suggestion is that you have the horizon light sky following the edges of the hills on the right side whereas IRL it may be straight.

Nice to see that develop, Daniel. Great finish, as usual.
