Just a quick exercise to free up my brushwork.

my mum sat for 2 hours for this portrait and i really thought i could finish it in 2 hours but i'm half the way through so next week I'll get to it and finish the work.

Allison.

p.s It so annoying trying to get details in!

Well done. Your mum is a good subject and I think you have captured her essence. It is such a good exercise to set a time limit.
I am about to go to a portrait group which does 20 portrait sketches. I'm hoping it will loosen me up and improve my observation skills. It has been a while since I did pure observation work.
