We went to Melbourne to have a night out with the kids. As usual after dinner and in a city I cannot sleep so took the D700, wound the ISO up to 3200, stuck an old MF 50mm f1.8 lens on and went for a walk.

| Man the quality of those shots (meaning lack of noise) is amazing Dug! I'm envious. What shutter speed were you able to use? |

Ha ha ha..but it's such a nice place.
I see the streets are still shiny.
They are like that everytime I go there as well. |

| What were those people doing dressed like that in the middle of winter in Melbourne in the rain at one in the morning? |

They had just left a night club and were looking for a taxi
Exposures varied between 1/60th and 1/250th depending on the light
The D700 is quite astounding at high ISO I would probably grudgingly admit that it is now better than film for stuff like this |
