I had a really good time in Broome this time..I always do but this time my mother in law came along with us.
My wife's mother is a beautiful person. She has just retired from a thirty year stint behind the counter of her newsagency at Redfern in Sydney.
If you own a newsagency you don't get to have holidays and you have to work seven days a week starting at 5.30am till late...and if you have a newsagency in Redfern you have to put up with the occasional dickhead putting a gun in your face and trying to take all of your hard earned money... OK so the joy of it all was seeing my mother in laws face light up as she saw all of these "alien" landscapes as the sun set.
My group exhibition was a flop, but you live and learn and realise your mistakes in hindsight.
The happiness on my mother in laws face made it worth while...I could have done without the two days in Perth though.
