I import photos into my graphic software.
Then I click onto the corner of the image and downsize it so it's about the same size as an avatar.
Then I export the image. When I export the image I get an option to make it whatever size I want so I just make sure that the image is no bigger than 120 pixels wide by 140 high...from memory.
Then I compress the image so it's 12 kb or lower. |

You would think if I could put a web page up overnight I could work out how to load an avatar! I found a 12 k image on the net but it was over the pixel size and when I reduced the image size in Photoshop it magnified the file size.
I'm afraid I shall remain avatar-less until I can work this out! |

Hey Kevin when you open up your image in a normal viewing window, you can just click the edit button adn then change size....though in the world of mac it may be different (and upside down).
Your exhibition looks great! what a great gallery room too, with those crazy walls giving more viewing room.
I like how on your website the first photo is a painting of you, looks like you're about to say "what the hell are you lookin at?"
And I like how you paint roads! I have roads in a few of my latest and they look more like the ones that come with yer lego set. |

Thanks for everyone's assistance, but I may be a hopeless case.
I can reduce an image down to 12 k in photoshop, it's just so small and blurry as to be useless. I emailed a pic to Mike. I know he's flat out at present, so I can live without a graphic next to my name.
Jade, thanks for your feedback. I do look grumpy in that self portrait. I think it's the end result of peering intently into a mirror, but I don't do that often so it's possible that's how I look all the time! Your blog is very personable. I have gone with a formal CV on my site, but wonder if a more journalistic approach should be taken. I commented on your Dead End painting on the Art Discussion thread. Congrats on your wedding. |

Yes I'm flat out.
Here's a solution to the avatar problem.
Just right click on my snazzy new avatar and then save picture as...
And then upload it as your avatar...and then I'll delete it as mine. |

It's a good kind of grumpy though Kevin! So many times self portraits don't have an expression - I'll have to remember to have one if I ever do one!
Your formal CV looks great - you can always have the best of both worlds and attach a blog as well, if that tickles your fancy! I always like to read artists blogs, gives an insight into the inner workings, both mentally and technically, can be very fascinating - or downright boring (and sometimes slightly insane).
Thanks for your comment on my painting- but I can't find it! and for the wedding Congas |

Hi Jade,
This is what I wrote:

... Jade, we both seem to respond to the road and signage. Your Dead End painting almost feels like a mural design with meta reference to the issue of painting itself in its dual concern for illusion and surface. |
Wazo,
Hope you begin to feel more vertical very soon. |

Great work !
It was good to see pics of the paintings in progress too.
The compositional relationship between the cloudy sky and underwater rocks in Rock Fishing Near Entrance Point, makes it a really strong painting.
I know the buying market likes incidental detail and human presence, but for me the way water mediates between earth and sky is enough on its own. The contrast between the hard and enduring nature of rocks and the fluid, and fleeting effects of light and water gives the work an almost metaphysical quality.
...But then I like stark paintings!
Thanks for showing me the portraits too. Hope that you get more opportunities in that regard. ... and thanks for the table saw! |

| wow this stuff is awesome. Good work. I will follow your progress as I love this kind of thing and do a similar kind of thing myself even if it a bit looser and slightly whackier! |
