Hey, Thanks for the plug!

The sentiment is reciprocated.

Show opens today, 2-4 pm, so look forward to meeting anyone who can make it.

Hope "Mike" has a great time and good reception to his work in Broome.

I'm going to try and see the show tomorrow.
Maybe Kevin will let me take some wide angle views of the exhibition and post them on the forum.

I went to an opening night not long ago and told my kids that I had to "sell myself"...my four and a half year old daughter started crying because she thought I was speaking literally. Shocked

Hi Mike,

Good to hear you are back. How was Broome? Please feel free to photograph the show. As for "selling" yourself, I tend to do it for free!

Hi belle2. I really like your painting, Banyan Stand, Magnetic Island, and the way shifting colours and tones can imply space.

I tend to be a hard edged painter, but would like to work with a bit more atmospheric perspective.

The opening night was good. I got to talk to the other artists and after the gallery closed we were all shouted dinner and drinks at Matso's which is right next door. It was a magical evening.
Then the clock struck twelve and I had to run off before my head turned back into a pumpkin. Wink

Some photos of the exhibition before it gets taken down on Wednesday.
The quality of Kevins work truly amazes me.
I knew Kevin was good at what he does but I haven't seen his work for well over a year.
I wish him the best of luck, but I don't really think that he needs it, he has worked too hard to leave anything to chance.

Hi Mike,

It was good of you to come down to the exhibition and to post the photos. I have finally got a web site up which includes all the paintings in the exhibition. Hope to put some older work up as I get time.

Hope it's ok to post the link here.

Thanks devilbiss for posting this.
I was wondering, for people living in remote areas and unlikely to get to Sydney in the foreseeable future, what sort of prices are we talking about here?

Is devilbiss another name for "Mike"? I couldn't think of an interesting username!

The work wasn't for sale, as I am working toward my Masters and need it all for final assessment. But I will be looking for a commercial gallery soon! But, I do the odd commission, starting around $400.

Thanks for sharing your work Stefan. You cover a lot of ground. Not sure that I would classify it as "outsider" art.

I showed in a Naive Gallery when I was young, but I realised it was an affected style and I was just developing.

Devilbiss was my first username. I wanted to use my own but the system wouldn't let me.
It was too close to another members name I think.
Devilbiss is a brand of spraypainting equipment, but I changed it to Daniel and then to...well there's been a few.... as too many people were getting Devilbiss mixed up with Devilbliss (you have to look closely)

Stefan and I go a way back as forum members. Stefan is the king of the self promoters and I am the king of the smart arses.
So you are speaking to royalty.

I like your website Kevin. You organised that quickly. You'll have to give me a few tips.

Your "Majesties",

I kneel before your greatness! When it comes to self promotion and smart arsing ...I should blend right in!

Thanks to you both for your efforts in "promoting" others too.

Re: web page. I'm a serious technophobe, but a mate bought me the domain name and I finally got around to putting something together yesterday using iWeb (I have a Mac). It was just a case of look-and-put and at the end click "publish". Magic! (With Mr Bean accent!)
