The Border Walwa Football and Netball Club is organising a left of centre sports event: SPARTA 2010 (Sport, Photography and Art Amalgamation) - an art and photography exhibition and competition with a twist.
The subject matter of the works must be associated with sport and the event is designed to be quirky and fun! SPARTA 2010 will provide enough entertainment to engage community members who are not generally frequenters of galleries but will also have quality art and photography for the serious art lover to appreciate.
SPARTA 2010 will take place on 27-29 August 2010 (during the Upper Murray Football and Netball League final series when footy fever is high!) at the Walwa Memorial Hall.
Art works can be in any medium. We are hoping for pieces to range from farm art, sculpture, installations and the more usual oil/acrylic/pastel/ink. Children are also encouraged to enter.
