Talk about get me cranky!!!
I had a picture of my nudy fairy ,( cropped, you could only see the top of the boobs) , removed from face book because it violated their terms, and was considered offensive nudity....

Art censorship is alive and well....

There , I have had my whinge here as well.... Mad

That is what sucks the most!! I didnt call it anything, it was just a profile picture, with no caption or tags.

They didnt remove it from my publicly viewable photo album complete with boobs, nipples and peckers... which would have made more sense!!
I think it is a matter of time before they do though.
There have been a couple of occasions that i havent been able to view one of the paintings, and it was an abstract-ish nude painting with no nipples, just shapes... Hmmmmm... Confused

I'd say someone viewing your profile has probably clicked the button that says 'report this picture' (or whatever it says exactly) and then checked the box that says 'nudity'.

The facebook guidelines specify that "Photos and videos containing nudity, drug use, or other graphic content are not allowed." I guess that due to the enormous size of facebook it's just too hard for them to discriminate between artistic nudity and nudity used for nefarious purposes, or to be a moral policeman deciding what degree or kind of nudity may or may not offend. They've gone for the administratively simplest option of just banning all nudity to be on the safe side. Which is fair enough I suppose - facebook is a public social network not an art forum. You can't really expect much more from them.

I also think I may know who did it!! I ought to just allow poopy people to be , with out feeling the need to have my 2 cents worth!! So in this respect it was a little tit for tat!! Laughing

Oh well... I will paint something else or crop something else down and then I can remove my stunned bush baby profile picture! Very Happy

I don't understand why people are allowed to be offended by nudity. It's like that snow statue of the Venus de Milo having to be covered up in the US: crazy.

Americans are just bizarre, they think a bare breast is dangerous but mass slaughter on TV or video is acceptable.

I have had many "Discussions" with puritan Americans about this over the years on various sites.

I have had to restrict this image and other like it on Flickr because it shows bare breasts.

They have no sense of acceptance of other cultures, their criteria is nothing that you would not show children or your mother, when I replied that these were mothers and their children were there and it was a totally public event it was still deemed to rude for normal viewing.

Perhaps you could paint something that looks like a breast but is actually 2 cupcakes or the like Very Happy

About the boobs... It makes me wonder how their minds work... maybe they are so totally perverted that they cant look at anything like a boob with out thinking how it would feel... or worse.
It disgusts me the same way , how some people react to breast feeding.
When my Daughter (15) was born I can remember being asked to go into the public toilets to feed her, being abnormally hormonal and assertive ( unlike myself now) I asked the person if they would mind taking their dinner in there to eat it instead.... I was in a tucked away part of a shopping center food court, in a booth... not a 5 star restaurant with a no kids policy... Shocked

Does anyone remember a tv show on ABC called Plasmo?? It was a clay animation about some aliens that looked ALOT like vaginas that talked....

I am ashamed to say I have watched the drift to radical lunacy for too long and don't care anymore. It will all turn around eventually but I fear it will get worse first.

Breast feeding always gives me a dilemma. When I see a mum breastfeeding I want to watch because it is so beautiful but look away because I don't want the mum to think I am perving at her.

Bring back the 1960's (and Gough while we are turning the clock back).
