Guildford Lane Gallery is partnering up with Melbourne L'Oreal Fashion Festival to present two weeks of fashion related exhibitions.
There are two options for you to get your fashion related work on display during Fashion Week activities at Guildford Lane Gallery.
One is to submit your work in any medium to be presented in a curated show 'Embodiment: Fashion, Image and Art'. This exhibition seeks to explore the junctions between fashion, art and personal identity through the exhibition of fashion, design, illustration and art. The person and the personality is often expressed, hidden or re-invented through the wearing of fashion. Through the wrapping and unwrapping process of wearing clothing and accessories individuals signify movement through life and the external expression of inner narrative. We are interested in including work in this show that explores these concepts in thought provoking ways and will consider works in diverse media.
The cost of exhibiting in this two week show (9th - 21st March) is $220 inc GST for either 4m square of wall or floor space. If you would like to be considered then please send Emily Kocaj images of work to be presented, mediums, titles, bio and statement on the works.
The other way to get your creations on view is to submit them digitally for our 'Fashion in Images' exhibition and Symposium (9th - 14th of March with the Symposium on the 10th of March). For this digital exhibition we will be projecting images in a loop and will also select a number of the images to be hung in the Gallery (please let us know if you have the works available in print format or would be willing to do so for the exhibition so that you can be considered for selection). The Symposium will require exhibitors to speak for a few minutes about their work and to participate in a discussion relating to the exhibition. The cost for up to 15 images is $50.
