I thought u said Rolf Harris works when I first read Tango's post!!!
I was hoping with the bigger venue, they would lay it out so you didn't have to double back as much. Yes I know it's not easy... But I think we spent more time saying, have we been down here yet? than looking... hehe
Some great work, but as usualy hard to see with so many hanging on one panel.
I went last Saturday afternoon, and I didn't think it was as busy as it usually was. But who knows. |

We had the same problem green frog... I sort of only knew where I had been if there was a memorable painting on that panel!!
The panels were crowded...
I dont think it was a good idea for them to hang some of the works so low to the ground... below knee height makes it almost impossible to view the work in a favorable light... and it didnt seem appropriate to get down on my knees!! |

| I was a little disappointed this year. Only two out of four of my works were hung which is a bit disheartening. Not sure if I'll bother next year! |

From what I have heard lots of damaged frames as well.
Sales were 40% down on last year apparently (even though the venue was so much larger) ... but the Club made a motza in entry fees from extra artists and galleries..... and ticket sales from people walking in the venue. |

This is a good thing.. I have to leap to Camberwell's defense (yes, I'm a Rotarian, too) and point out that despite any failings of the actual show, ultimately it is run as a fund-raiser. Not for the Club, but for charities that the Club supports. Rotary, sadly, is not very good at getting that message out there.
The ideal situation is a win/win: where artists get a quality chance to display and sell, and the organisation raises funds for charity in the process. In reality, most shows struggle to display the works as well as they would like, and some don't make as much as they would like. There's always room for improvement.
Cheers
