This is it. The final German Shepherd for the year. (I hope) This is much larger than my usual portraits, painted on a full sheet of bluey grey colourfix.

The dogs name is Jay.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Absolutely beautiful! Smile I love the serious GSD look that has come through, despite the smiling face.

Thank you Ravenari. You must have a Shepherd yourself I think.

Pearl, I did much better than last year when I was driving round the suburbs dropping off paintings on Christmas Eve!

Thank you Wendy. I think I'll have a doggy chew now.

Altheau. It took about half an hour to sketch it onto the colourfix paper an another hour to roughly block in the darkest areas. I left it for a while after that to frame some smaller works, stopping to look at it now and then.
When I got back to it the next day I put on a couple of Davy Spillane albums and pretty much finished it in about two hours. Then about another hour and a half to cut the mounts and frame it. I had to take it all back out of the frame again when I realsied I hadn't signed it. My wife Arlene said the air turned blue! I wish I'd had time to take some WIP photos. Delivered it yesterday and the customer was delighted.

Merry Christmas to you all.

By the way,in case anyone was wondering. The light marks in the background above the dog's head are reflections from the glass. I usually photographise my work before framing but I forgot. Embarassed

(Yes I know it's not a real word but I like it!)

No, but I do dream about them sometimes.

This year, for the first time, we took Django (our enormous Shepherd) on the boat with us as we sailed on the Swan on Christmas day. We moored up for lunch on board with champagne and strawberries and cream and watched the world go by. A fabulous day was had by all. I feel so priviledged to live here.

How was Christmas in the b eautiful Avon valley Pearl?

That sounds heavenly Clive, I bet Django was very pleased to be taken along.
It was very, very quiet here, the day wasn't too hot, I spent the morning sorting out stuff on the computer & the afternoon painting, & eating too much.
not much different to usual actually, just no houswork. Very Happy
