Hi everyone, here are a couple of demos I did while at Original Oz in Mount Martha on Sunday. The weather was terrible in the morning so we got solid foot traffic through the first demo. During the second one the weather cleared up and everyone went to the beach.

Here's the first piece. I called it "Dusk's sweet kiss, Mount Martha". It's pastel, roughly 10" x 18".

This piece was an experiment. The reference was blurry and taken in the middle of the afternoon but it did capture the shift in values between the headland and the foreground. I decided to change the time of day to capture the golden light of dusk and this is what resulted.

The next work was a simple summer scene called "Beach boxes, Mount Martha" It's also pastel, about 8" x 16".

On the way home I took advantage of the finer weather and got a heap of new reference material. Here is the first piece done from that outing.

"Birdrock beach - Toward Monington"
(Pastel, 9" x 5")

I'll be posting some more new works very shortly. I've got a few commissions on the go at the moment which are keeping me quite busy.
