Heya,
We're a local band that is currently midst recording an album, and as such we're going to need an album cover (and also an image to put onto T-Shirts etc.)
We've considered having the cover done photographically but with the direction that it is going we think it would be better and easier if it was done as a painted image of some sort.
We have a basic idea of what we want the cover to look like, but at the same time we're happy to work with someone in developing the image more. If there's anyone who would be interested in a project like this then please send a PM and let us know.

Sounds kool.. I'm probably a bit late but thought I'd reply anyway 
Depending on the genre of music you have, I have some cartoon style characters (shroomz) which would look great on tshirts.. allthough you might wana ignore the faery art  hehe.. but Im open to try anything so if you havent got an artist yet feel free to check out my work!

Hi Decaf - some nice work there.
To move into the professional area, you really need to be able to provide your art in a more reproduction-friendly electronic form. My suggestion for your sort of style would be to look at getting a scanner and Adobe Illustrator (probably Photoshop as well, although Elements would probably be enough). Then you could vectorise your illustrations, colour them, combine them with type and the rest of the layout.
Otherwise, whoever you supply the art to is going to get somebody like me to do it, and the cost of that comes out of what they might have paid you.
