Hi there,
I have a painting by Arch Cuthbertson..its round and 61cm in diameter..oil on board. in his textured style, quite a beautiful work...anybody got any idea of its worth? It was painted pre- 1967, and featured in Art and Australia magazine of that year.
any advice would be great, thanks.

Hi Mukianna
Cutherbertson's work is traded with reasonable regularity on the secondary market. Sadly he doesn't fetch huge amounts (highest price to date is $7000 hammer and that was during the boom). For someone to be able to give you an accurate assesment they would need to see it. Any of the major auction houses could do that for you free of charge, including the one that I work for. My recommendation would be to take a snap and email it along with the dimensions and provenance and you should be able to find the information you seek...
Cheers
