Hi Felice - I am battling painting and am slowly losing...
I know nothing about 'contemporary art' but I don't mind your stuff - it's certainly vibrant and there's enough in there for any viewer to see something of interest. Good luck with the depression - other Forum members have posted about similar situations, so I'm sure you'll get nothing but support here.
Had a look at your website - love the 'New Stuff Bad Photos" button, but I couldn't find any information about your show...
Cheers

Hi Felice
I really love your work, especially the drawings. You might like to look at my first solo "Entangled" which I saw as an exploration of my own recovery from major depression.

Best of luck with your show Felice. I hope you find it a fitting finale for the depression.
For those who can't find the details, here is the relevant blog post about "From Darkness to Light" (Plenty of images on the website and blog too.)

Hi Felice, I really enjoyed seeing your work, I think it is fantastic, and would love to see it in person, I will try to get there.
Well done, depression is a hard thing to shift and has touched my life from many perspectives.

Felice you will find a truckload of empathy within an art forum, unfortunately the downside of trawling the depths of our being for artistic expression will often result in us finding such depths, but they are also tempered with ecstatic highs occasionally - if we chose to be beige, we would be bank tellers (not that there's anything wrong with that!!). You are definitely not in the minority, and I applaude your honesty.
I love your drawings, they show a raw honesty and depth that can't be created without the emotions you have experienced. It seems a cruel twist that delivering such works of profound emotion seems to require taking ourselves to the inner mental badlands, yet they are also cathartic in releasing us back to nicer places.....oops, too deep and weird, it's late ok?!!
Well done. Art is therapy for all of us, if we are doing it right! |

Actually the one I meant is called Meteorite - puts me in mind of an abstract version of the great Heironymous Bosch. But there are many many others that I think are really good too..Parrots of War is very interesting.
I love your use of colour and the layering. You can certainly tell you've been doing this for a while and that you are passionate about what you do. |

Hi Amandav
Meteorite........abstract version of Bosch.I am flattered.
This painting came about in a time when I was questioning GOD,Jesus, everyone.
I had just Embraced the Bible and wanting to paint.Whilst I did not feel like it.
I was talking to Kody* Well Kody was asking me questions, that I really didn't
really have the answers for.
Why are your paintings So Dark.?
Why do you only ask about what Jesus wants ?
Why dont you snap out of it and paint something colourful.?
What are you waiting for .... a sign from God ?
I had no answers......We were working in a garage..I was stuffing around with a Dark painting.
Kody Said "what are you waiting for... a sign from God or something "
No sooner did she utter those words......... an Owl flew into the
garage like a meteorite and ...straight into the back wall of the garage..
Dying for it's trouble.......I started painting....I still am....
Cheers Felice |
