Chat to Kerrie Warren in vic, www.kerriewarren.com.au , she has been there and done that this year, you can hear her chatting on radio about it through a link on her site. She's really friendly and always up for a chat! |

Agora gallery is more of a vanity fair, the prices they charge are too much, and I suspect them for only accepting artist from far away.
To me Agora gallery IS NOT a gallery.
Why pay top dollar, just to have new yourk on your cv.
Stay away from agora gallery, is my advise...work your way up slowly. |

It's a vanity gallery where the selection criteria is more related to your ability to pay than anything else so it's not held in high esteem.
With a vanity gallery the money is made from renting wall space so the incentive for the gallery to sell your work is not high.
Agora have shown some decent work, some OK work and some...well....not good. It's not as bad as some hire spaces over there or here for that matter. I suspect it won't do you any harm (other than leave your pockets lighter) but I doubt you would get much from the experience either.
BTW Freight between here and NY is pretty expensive so you want to make sure you factor that (and return freight) into your costs before deciding to proceed |

Thanks for your comments renesinkjaer and Amandav.
That's what I was thinking.
I got the e-mail from them and they want to exchange the website link.
and they added saying that they would be happy to represent my work.
I am not thinking of doing any show in overseas anyway because it is too expensive.
I was just curious to know about the gallery.
Thank you. |
