Throw a party, put it on facebook, put some stupid glasses on and unbutton your shirt and you'll get the PR companies banging at your door.

If you don't have any contacts ie with galleries who use PR people or other artists who do then I'd suggest trying ArtsHub. It is a central portal (membership based for much of it) for all art workers including arts management, writers, publicists etc.

Alternatively, you could contact the Department of Arts and Culture in WA and ask if anyone there can help http://www.dca.wa.gov.au/

Look at publications you are interested in being featured in and contact the Editor / Arts Editor and ask if they are able to recommend someone.

Maybe even Public Relations in the phone book?

Another resource you might consider is Artsource, http://www.artsource.net.au/.
They have different levels of membership. I was picked up by one gallery through them.

Hi Boris,

Perth is a hard market for artists, but I have a PR background and am working on promoting my husband's art and I do publicity for the Byford Fine Arts Exhibition. I also know of some art marketers who represent artists who might be able to help. If you wanted to make contact, my details are 0414 06 3250.

regards,
Wendy
