Outsiders Festival - Adelaide 2009 update

As the planing for the festival is entering the final stages I would like to know if you would like to take part or not.
The options so far are:
1. Video projection of works submitted -3 works per participant, 10 seconds - all works in a loop - details about the artists on each slide - you will have to send your images with details close to the date of the festival - email address to be advised - cost $5 per artist.
2. Prints of your works displayed 3 works per artist, maximum 90 x 90 cm- works to be submitted mid September - cost $20 per artist. Please provide your CV and any other information you wish to have displayed with the works at the address to be advised.
If the prints are for sale, happy to help - 10% of the sale price is our commission. You will have to arrange to retrieve your works if you want them back. There is an alternative - see end of message.

All works submitted will have to be insured by the artist.

The alternative to retrieve your work is to leave it in consignment until it's sold or you arrange to retrieve it.
The works in consignment will be regularly displayed at the Stefan Maguran gallery, to be opened at the time of the Outsiders Festival - Adelaide 2009.

Please advise by 1. June 2009 if you want to be considered for any of the three options.
We may, depending on circumstances, not extend the above deadline, so please reply promptly if you are interested.

I will be talking about the plans for the Outsider Art Festival and my longer term vision for setting up a gallery. As people may or may not be familiar with Outsider Art and its history, I would also cover this interesting topic.
Further, I will also talk about how I have used the internet to develop connections with artists and organisations…artists may get something out of hearing about my experience in this area.
Where and when:
Nexus Cabaret Space, on the corner of North Terrace and Morphett Street in the city, on Friday 3rd July, from 3pm – 5pm.

Outsiders Festival – Adelaide 2009 – update

1. The dates for the festival have been finalized: 1 – 30 November 2009
2. One venue for the festival has been confirmed – The Auditorium – West Torrens City Council – more to be announced shortly.
3. Registrations for the festival have been re-open until the end of August:
AU$ 20 for three pieces – max 100 x 100 x 5 cm (originals or prints), and/or
AU$ 5 for three pieces to be projected on a screen during the festival.
4. All works must be submitted between 1 and 15 September 2009 to:

5. Redbubble, our major sponsor have kindly offered free shipment for up to three works printed by Redbubble per artist. The offer is valid for two weeks only between 1- 15 September.
6. Please advise on sell prices and remember that we charge 10% commission and works that are not retrieved by 7 December 2009 can be left in consignment with the Stefan Maguran gallery, until sold. (same commission applies).
7. If you wish your profile to be featured on the Outsiders festival blog, please send Stefan Maguran a one page profile and one small picture of one of your best pieces.

The Parks Community Centre have agreed to offer the Elbow Room Gallery for the festival.
