Sunrise over the Cane Field
Acrylic on Board, Post Card size 2009

This piece I did for an upcoming postcard exhibition at the Regional Gallery. The theme was called "line"...so I used this theme within my technique, using strokes/lines for most of detail.

I kept a colour scheme, using orange, purple, green and red ochre.

I tried to achieve depth and perspective, while using a limited palette.

Comments are welcome

I like how you show perspective in there.
And color too!

Thank you for all your positive comments...the exhibition opening is in a couple of weeks and makes me feel good about the response, and the upcoming auction...I hope it sells!

What do you think my usual style is??? (Curious to know how others would describe my art style...it might help me analyse it!) I feel it is me. I guess my style is still coming through. Bold, semi-representational/ semi-realistic is how I describe my work. When I can, I incorporate texture. But because this painting was so small I thought it wouldn't work (I wanted to add texture to the cane).
