Is texture an important part of abstract art?
Does texture add value to abstract art?
Sure some art looks good with it and some doesn't but is there a perception that abstract art with texture is more desirable and can fetch better prices?
If about $10 worth of pva glue and plaster cornice adhesive stratigicly placed can fetch hundreds or thousand more for an artwork should we all be doing it? |

No, we shouldn't. Some people are good at it and some people are not.
I'm not! |

I use gap seal and on occasions modelling paste... im not bad at it... I have sold for several hundred, but am still waiting for the thousands or so!! ( maybe 'dreaming' is a better word to use than 'waiting'!!)
I just have fun with it.
Its not about the money all the time.
Through fun and experimentation, you may come across something that works and gets attention and sells, with or with out texture. |
