I’m glad you ask.

Stefan Maguran is the most collectable and affordable Australian artist at the moment.
His career of less than two years, (echoes of which being found here):

includes two solo shows, thirteen group shows, seven charity events and about three hundred works, a large number of which having found a new home in Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, Vienna, Bucharest and recently Bath.

His work has sparked some lively debate on Artforum and a bit of controversy with his WIP – Olympia – the way it should be.

Faced with Stefan Maguran’s strong presence in the arts scene, some artists have reacted energetically, rejecting most of Stefan’s obvious skill and talent. It has even been suggested he undertake formal training at TAFE

Being a person with a lot of common sense, and always on the lookout for new things to learn, Stefan took the advice very seriously and has embarked on a journey of discovering real Aussie talents and learning from their craft in the process.

First, he was fortunate to meet Gerhard Ritter. By studying his educational video Stefan was able to produce his first Oil portrait – a portrait of himself.

He then took part in a workshop with Anna and Marek Herburt, producing his first oil landscape and a series of four naive glass paintings that keep drawing attention on Artforum:

Continuing his search for some good training in painting he found Tony Moffitt’s online art school and in a few weeks went from this:

Today Stefan is completing a body of work for his upcoming show in July, called:
“Evolution - Stefan Maguran discovers paintbrushes and oils”

We’ll keep you posted.

I've tried to get myself an agent like that dude with his party but unless I paint some illegal, immoral or fattening stuff, the agents are not interested.

Thanks Jo, speaking of which, I've lost track of your endeavours - last I remember you were having a show and you've presented that abstract piece her on the forum. How are you going?
