Just to clarify.
I came to this state 17 years ago with two small children and a wife and 5 dollars in my pocket in a skills shortage program.
17 years later I find myself considered too old in this state to get a job, while politicians spend tax payers money going overseas to get people to come here to fill in the skills shortage.
I am doing what I can to get money to survive and so far I have managed to do this quite well.
I am organising a series of festivals and an art gallery, exhibitions and I paint.
I am also taking up the fight for dignity, as not every person disabled by the system is able to fight.
Sure there are examples around, but you have to admit that all those examples have a strong community support behind them.
It is very easy to say to someone who is down - get up.
Lending a hand involves the risk of a spinal injury.
I am not having a dig at anyone, just thinking aloud. |

Haven't seen you around, Pook, welcome back. Yes, it's still running - I'm not dead yet and it will be probably running even after I am.
Are you staying or going back to your scrabble? - I would like to see some of your new work. |

How about doing some pieces for the Outsiders?
I have four - five places still available if you're quick to register. |

My whole thread about the Outsiders Festival 2010 has disappeared.
I respect the right of the owner of this forum to do how he pleases, but I would ask to have the Outsiders Festival Adelaide 2009 thread changed to The Outsiders Festival - update, to better reflect the reality. I will be posting weekly updates on that thread, until someone will make the decision to shut me up.
Thank you. |

Dear moderators. I admire your work both as artists and as care takers of this forum.
I would appreciate if you could respect the amount of work I am putting in organising and promoting the Outsiders Festival and help restoring the thread that presents updates on the Outsiders Festival 2010.
Many thanks |

| Oh, well, I give up - I will post my weekly updates on all the threads related to the Outsiders Festival and perhaps open a new thread every week. I just can't believe people can be like that. |

"..."outsider art", consists of works produced by people who for various reasons have not been culturally indocrinated or socially conditioned"... "Working outside fine art "system" (schools, galleries, museums and so on), these people have produced, from the depths of their own personalities ... works of outstanding originality in concept, subject and techniques. They are works which owe nothing to tradition or fashion."
Michel Thevoz, Curator of the Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne

Well, as all my events have been moved to the SA area, I have decided to leave this forum.
It has been a real pleasure.
Goodbye. |
