my gosh you are fabulous!
i'm sure the person who commissioned this is going to be thrilled with it!
do you show the person along the way? or do you just wait until the final product is complete to show them? |

Thanks for all of your kind words and critiques.
The owner came around last week to have a look and he's pretty happy.
He wants all of the original bits and pieces vases statuettes etc included. He says that he's willing to pay for it
Stay tuned for the next thrilling installment. |

WOW!!! What a fantastic painting!!!
Peoples 'trinkets' and such show so much of a persons personality, and represent a lifetime of memories for some, so in this case i think its an important feature, as much so as his hands, they show a lifetime of work and wear!!
I am so interested in portraiture at the moment, people that is, not pets... I have regular commisions for those kind!! I sometimes think of it as my dead pet registry, people bring me their old faded photos and expect me to bring 'life' into a painting for them... I have managed to make everyone happy so far, its just so stressing for me to figure it out for them!!
My aim is to try paint a portrait of my grand father in the next month or so, my daughter also!!
My aborigine portraits arent the same, I dont know how i feel about them in this moment (way to tired!!)
Anyhow, well done, i hope you are pleased with the end result!!
I also like your 'cadbury' palette!!
I work in acrylic, i havent used oils in decades ( i think i muddied some up in primary school, a paint by numbers kit for my 8th birthday!!) but i find the trays you get under meat bought from a supermarket ( the foam ones) to be terrific palettes, i dont know how they go with oils but they are great for acrylic!!
I would love to see more of your work!
Im giving up painting for tonight...Off to bed, for a couple of hours!!
Wendy. |
