Have just started a small (10"x8" on canvasboard) landscape of the view from our place looking over the misty valley towards North Scottsdale. So far just the underpainting or 'shadow skeleton' of the scene.

Paints used so far, diluted with a few drops of Spike Lavender Oil...

The next stage - mixed in some AS Sapphire and firmed up some of the dark areas

Lookin' good Pook. Are you working on this at the same time as your others? You seem to be able to work very quickly.

Thanks.

Yes.

I start out quickly, but slow down as I stop using diluent and start using straight paint and mediums. It's only a small one, 10"x8" so it doesn't take long to do an oil sketch in one or two colours.

Some AS Australian Green Gold straight from the tube on the fields, with a bit of Indian Yellow.

OH violet grey and blue grey in the sky, with a tint of Payne's Grey also.

Finer details on houses and trees, addition of cows, etc.

This is really all still just the first stage or underpainting.

When thoroughly dry I will commence glazes, probably an overall Raw Sienna or Transparent Gold Oxide one to unify the painting, then blue, red and white glazes for the mist and shadows in particular spots.

It does remind me of our trip to Tassie. The countryside is so beautiful and you have got the look of a winter morning down pat.

Looking very good, Pook.
I see you are making good use of those AS Australian series paints.

Thanks everyone, it is looking a bit more finished now after some more scumbling and glazes, but the Pookwife's pooter (the one that runs the network) is suffering Vistascleriosis at the moment and only running in "safe mode with networking" which on Vista seems to mean safe mode without networking, so until we uninstall the security suite program causing all the problems for the fifth time and try something else to get it working I can't be bothered transferring the latest pics from my computer to upload them (and also can't find the flashdrive to do it anyway).

These were taken last week:

Today's pictures, after some more white glazes in the misty areas, various glazes on the grass and adding of details in the houses and yards, etc:

I sold this one at the Derby Rivers Festival Exhibition!

Two paintings sold at two exhibitions on the same weekend! I will have to take the Pookwife out to celebrate.
