You start to appreciate how fast the little buggers are when you realise that the above photo was taken at 1/1000 sec, and it's still blurred from the movement! (f/5.6, ISO 125)

looks like you have swarms of them too Sad

I hate them

I have an idea that may reduce their numbers.

I need to do some testing first.

you were brave ( or stupid ) to get this close to get photos ! Wink Very Happy

hundreds of them in the apple tree and in the wheelbarrow full of rotten apples.

Not really. They were not very aggressive at all. Perhaps because they were high on the sugar. Some of the shots were taken at 200mm focal length, and the closer ones with the normal lens the camera was held at arms length. It was tricky picking the apples though - you had to make sure there wasn't a hole in the other side of the apple full of wasps before putting your hand round it! Some of the apples were literally full of them - they hollow them out like paper lanterns. Horrible European invaders. Worse than pommy football fans.
