Where will youget the rocks? Our of your head? (so to speak ) Laughing Or from another photo?

A Stingray would look nice under the water there.

I like it like that, but I would go with the stingray if you were to add something. I would ask how much would this set me back if I wouldn't be that far behind.

I tried to paint rocks in but they just looked stupid.
So I just enhanced the foreground colour and I think it looks better.
My wife liked it as is as well.

The last painting I did turned out well, and it's hard to come up with something as good. I guess the water isn't as good in this one, the colours as well. I am trying to stay as close as posible to the local colours of Broome and paint them the same as in the reference pics.
Sometimes the sand is almost red/brown and this can make the water look dirty.

The colours are right in this pic as well.
There was a bit too much red in the last one.

This painting works in its uncluttered state. The horizon is the focus , anything more will just confuse things i think....
The trouble you might be having is that you are comparing i tto the last painting too much!!
Technically it is excellent, so are the colours...it is just that it is a different picture, photo etc...

I like it anyway!!

The Broome council should be paying you for advertisement and tourism... I certainly want to go there after seeing all your great paintings and photos Very Happy

Actually I liked the colour in the first one better. In this picture the water seems to be standing up in a heap in the foreground about a third of the way up. It also looks deeper and cooler. I liked the more shallow look.

Yeah you are comparing it to what was perhaps nearly your best ever work. It's still a great painting as is and you should always listen to your wife.

That means that I would love to purchase this beautiful piece but I am in no financial position to do so for a long long time due to accumulated debts and the obvious imbalance between income or lack thereof and expenses (which are sadly greater than zero).

Yes I can see that now, there's a sort of hole there as well.

Thanks Pook that previous painting was a hard act to follow.
I always listen to my wife, (even when I don't seem to be) I like to get a woman's perspective.
I think they are usually the decision makers.... espescially when it comes to buying art.

Well thanks for your interest.
Don't feel bad. The cost of this painting is $100 000 000.
I can't afford to buy it either.
