The event is a sale of contemporary art with all funds raised going directly to support the work of the Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The hospital, established by inspirational Australian doctor, Catherine Hamlin, works to change the lives of some of the world’s most destitute women in one of the world’s poorest countries. Run completely on donations, the hospital treats nearly 3000 women every year suffering obstetric fistula. These young women have suffered obstructed childbirth without medical assistance and having lost their babies, are left with severe internal injuries.
