We all improve in our painting with practice, as we train our selves to see and translate what is around us, some do it quicker than others!
Kids have a way of seeing thing we dont in a way we dont.
They have imaginations that generally run wild.... with out the worries and responsibilities adults have, they generally dont see limitations the way we do, and generally most kids are bought up believing that they can achieve anything they put their minds to.
The religious side to her paintings may come from influences at school or through other family members.
Also being self taught is widely defined, it may mean she hasnt studied art at uni, but may have been coached in painting from 4 years old.
Kids learn alot faster than we do at the best of times! Just drop a swear word (once) in front of a two year old!!
Her Mother may stand over her with a whip and make her paint 7 hours a day!! They dont show all the story if there is one!!
There is still hope!!! |

I believe that it is absolutely true and that her paintings are her own visions or memories of where she was before she was reincarnated.
Be nice to people and help as many as you can in whatever way you can..I believe that this is the true meaning of life. |

You just start and see where it takes you, with out any pre conceived idea of what you will paint or draw... similar to doodeling but in a sort of meditative unstressed state of mind. The main thing is to have no expectations.
I played around with this notion several years back and had some interesting results.
It can be fun if you do it with some one.
It can be considered a bit airy fairy!!
I dont really know what my opinion of it is. |

Ok. Thanks Wendy.
I know what Intuitive painting means but I just couldn't understand why you made that comment.
I suppose the last painting she was working on in the video could be described as intuitive.
I enjoy all types of artwork and people who work in this way (intuitive) probably enjoy their creative process more than people who work as rigidly as I do.
The hardest part about working intuitively is knowing when to stop. |

I was being paid alot to draw/paint intuituively for people, and the recipients really appreciated the out comes of the work, but it became stressful and forced... intuitive, free drawing is near impossible when suffering morning sickness and fatigue!!
It was stressful aswell when ill people , and people wanting to reconnect with deceased loved ones began to want more from me.
It want a bit 'funny' for a while there, I am still approached often to do these type paintings, but it isnt in my nature.
I was being paid, but hated the money if that makes any sense? I felt I was taking it for doing 'nothing'.
My phone doodles hold as much meaning for me, relaxing to do, no intentions, but i suppose there is meaning in the eye of the beholder!
Some of my work is still largely intuitive to a degree... I have only drawn two drawings in the past year that have been painted ( One because I was made to!!), the rest start as a blank and I go from there, it becomes what it does as far as composition and colour go.
I generally start out with the intention of a bird or animal, the three kookaburras , featured in a thread here someplace, were planned and drawn first.
My aborigine paintings are mainly intuitive. They turn out terrible when I am not in the right frame of mind. |
