|
|
Today I answered a job for art restoration, involving painting and sculpting. I was searching for jobs and came across it. Not expecting to find such a job in the newspaper I was a bit elated.
My excitement turned to disappointment when I was told that my experience was way short of most of the people who had so far applied. And even my offer of doing unpaid voluntary work was rejected.
I have done a google search on art restoration, not finding a great amount of information. I have gotten the general idea, however, that this tends to require study.
I was wondering, though, of whether there were other ways of entering into such work.
I think that I have a fairly good technical ability with drawing and with painting and with on-the-job training, figure that I could pick-up quite a lot fairly easily. And whilst I can understand that a course in art restoration may simply be necessary; I still wonder about to what degree natural ability is important.
Well, feel free to enlighten me about this. I would like to know more about just what a person needs to have or have done to get into such a field of work. |
