Hi there,
I am somewhat new to this forum, but having recently found myself with a lot of free time, I am trying to get myself back into landscape art. These are a couple of recent smaller paintings - they are both Sydney Harbour scenes. I seem to have gravitated towards a less impressionistic style than I had hoped:
Comments of any persuasion welcome.
Cheers,
Steve |

Very good work indeed, Steve, most impressive.
Terrific colour, you have really caught the Aussie bush, and your blues are spot on. _________________ "Hey, your painting looks like what it looks like" Homer Simpson

Thanks Marty, they're getting there. Still trying to find my 'comfort zone'.

I like the way that you have painted the sunlight and shadow on the trees.
It really enhances the shape of the branches. |

Thanks Devilbliss -yes, that always ads a dimension to these compositions and accentuates the wonderful shapes of eucalypt branches. I find a I am using them a bit too frequently though, as they are great for creating depth when featured in the foreground like that.
Cheers,
