Here is one I finished a while ago but hadn't posted here. I forgot to measure the size while I was at the studio today but will get the measurements for you guys tomorrow. My mum accidently put a hole in this one when i had it in the back of my car. I am getting it repaired soon. Let me know what you think. Sorry my camera is pretty bad with taking photos... Sorry the pic is a little fuzzy.

The colours are good in this one.
The waves look good as well.
Having the horizon line half way up is a bit of a no no.
Try two thirds sky or two thirds ocean (or land) next time and it should look better.
If the horizon line cuts the picture in half then it's hard to tell what the painting is about. If there is one third sky then it's about the ocean if there is one third ocean then it's about the sky, and then it's easier on the viewer.

Thanks guys. Devilbliss, this really is not a very good photo of this painting. I think my camera needs replacing. Yes so true about the half way mark, silly mistake i made. I will try to get the measurements and a better photo of this.

For me this has a surreal look to it - I am almost expecting a bizzare image to jump out.

The pic above is obviously a close up of the eagle and then the one above that is before my mum put a hole in the painting.

The second photo you posted really made the difference. The leaves in the upper right corner was the finishing I was looking for. Something felt missing to me in the first photo, but those leaves complete the image perfectly.

well done

Thanks Lizel. I still have a long way to go before I get to where i want to be with my work. This is probably one of my better paintings. Just sad there is now a hole in it. But im going to fix that and enter it in a local show here. Let you know how i do. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Nice work Cea Brieze - the second photo looks great. The leaves on the right make a big difference - good luck with the patching up.

Love the colours, but that sky is awesome. The sky with the bird could be a painting all on its own. Well done.

Thank you KimO, i think painting now just needs a little detail on those leaves in the top right, the more i look at them. And thanks I hope the patching up will be ok. This is a popular painting in my gallery, so i hope to make this one in to some prints.
And thanks Heartco, I like the sky too, and love how well the eagle turned out. I really agonised over putting the eagle in, funny. I hope to do some just sky paintings soon, just something about the way a sky can make you feel i think. Thanks for your comments.
