Perhaps it would help if you were to state the arrangments...for example,

Will the work be insured while it's on your premsies?

Do you intend to actively try to sell the work?
If so will you take a commission? and If not will you pay the artist for 'hiring' their work to decorate your premises? Or do you think the exposure of having the work on your walls is fair exchange?

Are there any costs involved for the artists, and if so what are these associated with?

etc.

Hi Amanda (?),

Thanks for the feedback, I've answered your questions in bullet form as it's probably the easiest:

Will the work be insured while it's on your premsies? I don't have specific insurance for the art, but we do have insurance for our contents, so the art would be covered under that should anything happen.

Do you intend to actively try to sell the work? The work will be labeled with name of piece, artist and asking price.

If so will you take a commission? I will be taking 10% of sale price

Or do you think the exposure of having the work on your walls is fair exchange? I think exposure for 10% (if piece sales) is a fair trade.

Are there any costs involved for the artists, and if so what are these associated with? No, the pieces just need to be supplied ready to hang, whether that be as a strung bare canvas or framed, and I will do the labels.

Cheers,
Anthony

Anthony - maybe get in touch with local Uni Art groups - I was recently involved with Post Datum at QUT.

facebook.com/pdatum

They have a large membership that could do well to tap into?

Here is a link to our Facebook page where we have a gallery with the art currently on display.

We are still looking for more artists who would like to display their work, spaces available immediately for 2 mid size - approx. 1m x 1.5m, and 1 large - approx. 1.5m x 2m.

Any questions please email me at sitecafe@hotmail.com.au

Cheers,
Anthony
