I was wondering Dug do you ever go in any photo competition , even the local art shows sometimes have a section for photography there is one coming up shortly in Leongatha, put on by Rotary. They have a section for colour and black & white photos. If you are interested , for an entry form email David John at :- leongartshow@skymesh.com.au

thanks but very rarely enter competitions, it is just something I don't do.

I am judging a photographic competition later this year, I have promised to be controversial and hopefully cause rioting in the streets given the town that could be difficult to organize Crying or Very sad

I've only ever entered one photographic competition. I won three prizes in it so they asked me to be a judge for the next one, which I've done the past two years.
How controversial are you going to be Dug? Your own photos are fairly uncontroversial. Is what you said about (not) rioting a comment on the size of the town, or their apathy?

It is a very small and conservative country town

I have my work cut out but I will give it my best try Wink

I nearly caused a lynching at one of the competitions I entered many many years ago.

The shot was a really nice slide of a man's leg in blue trousers walking across a floor of red tiles.

I won and was asked to give a short speech about the inspiration for the image.

I took the podium in front of the judges and other photographers gathered and explained

"I was in the airport and winding on a new roll of film. When I got it processed the shot was there. It was a total accident"

Somehow that did not go over well Embarassed

That is priceless. Bit like that ad a few years ago for those thin chips - "not as thick as some."
