Just finished - 20 x 30ins Oil on stretched canvas.
First for a series titled 'Yesterdays' being stories as told to my by my Grandmother. Never wanted or thought I would do old time paintings but there is no arguing with my granny!  C&C always appreciated.

| This is just beautiful, I love the title! I think the second goats colour perhaps makes it blend in too much? esp between the cool colours of the cart and the first goat. |

Thank you Ocker - I undertand that they are supposed to be going to visit Great Aunt Madeliane BUT there was talk about a swimming hole....
Jade - your point is not only well made but well taken. Thank you. I tossed and turned about that one during the value work up. Worked out best for distribution to keep the nanny 'average value' and the billy and the kids be high. Not as an excuse just a comment - IRL my work is impasto so the surface has a dynamic that is darn difficult to photograph! |

No, my Grandmother died in 1956. I am sure she went upwards cos she was the loveliest lady.
And yes, I paint by myself and dont take classes or workshops. I found great direct critiques on WC! which was my best 'teacher'. Of course my husband is head Critic! And does a great job of it. Last week I received an RADF grant towards this '100 years in Qld' exhibition which is really nice. |
