This is the peak at Gas Point, Margaret River. This is a very intense wave, breaking many boards and a few bodies too. It breaks over a shallow rock ledge which is clearly visible just below the water on the take off point, so it's a hairy take off, often with a couple of ledges on the way down. It is used in competitions and is a favoured break for very experienced surfers and pros, with a number of magazine shots emerging. Tube rides are common, and so are heavy wipeouts (I've had a few of the latter ).
On canvas, 22cm x 165cm or 22" x 66"

Great painting Marty.
One of the best I've seen you do.
Is the wave a left or right? or both?

Thanks, Daniel. It's mainly a right. You can get a short left barrel on some waves, but most guys go right. _________________ "Hey, your painting looks like what it looks like" Homer Simpson
